July 9, 2010

Below is a letter that President Hollinger sent out to the Gordon-Conwell Community about helping the Parrett family financially.

July 8, 2010

Dear Gordon-Conwell Community:

As you may have heard, Dr. Gary Parrett was in a serious bus accident a few days ago, and is in ICU at a hospital in Seoul, Korea. Given the gravity of his injuries, Dr. Parrett's recovery will undoubtedly take some time. In view of the significant expenses that will be incurred over the upcoming months, a number of people have already expressed their desire to give a financial gift to the Parrett family towards their expenses. We are grateful for the community’s concern and willingness to help in this practical way.

In response to these requests, an account has been set up for them at Gordon-Conwell. Please note that 100% of all donations to this fund will be given directly to the Parrett family (this means that donations are not tax-deductible).

To help, you can send your gift to:

Parrett Family Fund
Office of the President
Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
130 Essex Street
South Hamilton, MA 01982

(Please make the check out to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, with Parrett Family Fund in the memo line)

Gary’s wife, Holly and daughter, Alisa have expressed their gratitude for all your prayers on their behalf and the concern that has been shown. Dr. Parrett is dearly loved by the Gordon-Conwell community, and we continue to pray that God will restore him to full health.

Yours in Christ,

Dennis P. Hollinger
