Charlotte Campus Hosts David M. Rogers Hall of Mission Dedication and Faith in Public Life Forum

The Faith in Public Life Forum will take place from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at the Charlotte Campus (14542 Choate Circle). The Forum will be headlined by Mart Green of Mardel Stores and Hobby Lobby. Other forum speakers include Claude Alexander (The Park Church and Ministries), Tony Zeiss (Central Piedmont Community College), Ann Caulkins (Charlotte Observer), Stick Williams (Duke Foundation), and David and Jason Benham (Benham Brothers Real Estate Group). The David M. Rogers Hall of Mission Dedication will take place from 4:30–5:15 p.m. (EST). The David M. Rogers Hall of Mission was completed in 2015 as part of Gordon-Conwell’s recent Expanding the Boundaries capital campaign. The Hall is named after Greer, South Carolina native, David M. Rogers, a former Trustee, Charlotte Board of Advisor, alumnus and former President of Joshua’s Way.

A large number of local, regional and international dignitaries and guests are expected at this event. The dedication ceremony will include participants such as:

Dr. Dennis Hollinger, President and Colman M. Mockler Distinguished Professor of Christian Ethics of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Louise Rogers, widow of David M. Rogers.
Mart Green, CEO of Mardel Stores and Board Chair of Hobby Lobby.
Jean Graham Ford, sister of Rev. Billy Graham.
Leighton Ford, President of Leighton Ford Ministries.
Dr. Robert E. Cooley, President Emeritus of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Dr. Timothy S. Laniak, Dean and Professor of Old Testament

The Baccalaureate Service will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Steele Creek Church of Charlotte (1929 W. Arrowood Road). Bishop John F. Bradosky of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) will be speaking.

On Saturday, May 16th, Commencement will be held at Steele Creek Church of Charlotte at 10:00 a.m., Mart Green will be speaking.
